A huge and unique Baltimore playground in the Waverly neighborhood!

What most strikes us about Our Playground at Stadium Place is that the adults seem to have just as much fun as the kids. It’s hard not to get drawn into a game of hide-and-seek or tag on the giant, composite wood structures.

With plenty of equipment for climbing, sliding, and swinging you can easily spend hours here and never run out of activities. The playground does have a seperate tot section for kids two-five. It has all of the same options as the larger equipment, but is scaled for smaller children. Both areas have a solid rubber surface, so you don't have to worry about a muddy playground after a rain.

The park is fenced in layers. One fence immediately surrounds the playground area. A larger fence emcompasses the entire property.  In between the two fences there is a short paved loop where kids can bike or scooter. There are also picnic tables and benches along with a covered pavilion. Unfortunately, there are no bathrooms.

The playground is quite big and, due to the composite wood material, sightlines are not great. If you have multiple small children and want to take advantage of the bigger equipment, you may want to consider bringing another adult.

The playground is in the heart of the Waverly neighborhood in Baltimore City and is definitely a community hub. The later in the day it is, the more crowded the playground gets. It’s also housed right behind a YMCA and campers do sometimes use it in the summer. If you’re looking for a calmer experience, it’s best to go early in the morning.

Our work in Baltimore is truly a family affair. Husband and wife, Matt and Katie, work together to head up our ambassador team in Charm City. Katie is a Maryland native and has lived in the state her whole life. She moved to Baltimore in 2007 after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She has been working in the field of early childhood education as a teacher and family coach for the past 12 years. Katie also holds a Masters of Education in Literacy from Loyola University. She is passionate about giving kids and families the knowledge and tools that they need to thrive. Matt grew up in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore. As a city native, Matt is a great resource on all that the city has to offer. After months of helping Katie explore the city for her role at a Happy Active Family, he decided to put his love of writing to use and officially come on board as an ambassador. Matt and Katie have two girls, ages 5 and 7. They spend their weekends camping, hiking, or exploring other hidden gems in their area. Tap into their insider knowledge by downloading the app today!
