Georgetown, Washington, DC
Easy to access, top side of Georgetown, parallel to Burleith and minutes from Glover Park and Cathedral Heights (and steps from social Safeway and Starbucks), this pool is super! It has so many elements that, if going without little ones, may go unnoticed or appreciated.
For starters, the people are super nice, the life guards seem to be engaged and enjoying their jobs, many in between stand shifts are in the water laughing with a handful or dozen kids climbing on them or they are leading games of sharks and minnows.
For pre-swimmers, there's a 3 foot shallow end of the pool with slow walk in stairs and a bench that spans half of the pool for sitting or little one walking, standing and enjoying. See pics below!
It's a great local pool with night and weekend access on hot summer days, I'm truly impressed and grateful! This pool is a testament to a really great place for tax dollars that positively impact the community.
And for older kids, ages 5 to 12, swim team (again at no cost for DC residents, 3 nights a week in the summer!
